Dear Parents,
We were busy this week with fun activities around Plato School!!
Thank you to all who donated to our Service Project throughout the week. Next week, the children will help fill the bags. Each bag will include all the items that were donated. Then Ms. Neethu will collect all the bags and deliver the bundle of packages to the newborn babies and their mothers. How exciting, What a success!!
Along with our service project, we helped support Mr. Patrick’s class in the Paws Bake sale. There were so many goodies for the children to choose from and we helped PAWS which stands for Pets Are Worth Saving.

Our class started book #7 of The Princess in Black and the Bathtime Battle by Shannon Hale and Dean Hale In this series there is a stench and more superheroes. Can your child name all the new superheroes (Princess Snapdragon who is Flower Girl, Princess Honeysuckle who is Cartwheel Queen, Princess Orchid who turned into Miss Fix-It! What does the word Stench mean? Our class liked that word but didn’t like that the bluebird turned green because of the stench.
We have played various board games, card games, dice games, and group games all year. At the end of the year, I like switching it up and having our class make their own games. Each group needs to come up with the game’s name, how many people can play, what you need to play this game, and the game’s rules. Each group is learning to listen to one another, accepting each other’s ideas, and then finding a solution when there is a problem and trying to find a middle ground to get the project done. We will be sharing our games with Ms. Anna’s class on Tuesday.

Later in the week, we were invited to Mrs. Beth’s class to view their Genius Project. There were so many projects to view!! It was so interesting, and a lot of information we learned from each student’s projects including me.

The children were involved in painting the sculpture of an owl. The Style was influenced by Van Gogh’s Olive Tree painting. The colors were pulled from this painting and each child was able to paint on the owl. It is truly a work of art and love from all of our Plato Students.

Our Class today released our five Monarch butterflies. The children were sad to see them go since they watched them grow from larva, pupa, and then adult stage. The beautiful butterflies will be missed.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerly,
Ms. Demetra
